Privacy policy
Featle is a free game that doesn't ask you to create an account or give us your name or email address. This page explains what is stored and which other services are involved.
Cookies we set
- Session cookie. Remembers your current game (artists, chain and chosen song) and whether you have visited before. It's signed so it can't be altered and lasts up to a year.
- Time zone cookie (
tz). Stores the name of your time zone, such as "Europe/London", so the Daily Challenge changes at your local midnight. - Consent cookie (
cookie_consent). Remembers that you accepted the cookie notice.
Statistics
If you accept cookies, we count visits to the home page and whether you are a new or returning visitor. We also record an approximate country, which is looked up from your IP address. We don't store the IP address itself. When a request comes through Cloudflare, the country is supplied by Cloudflare. Otherwise the IP address is sent to the lookup service ipinfo.io to find the country.
We also keep counts of games started and completed. When a game is completed, the chain of artist names and the time are saved. These records contain no personal information. All statistics are stored with Google Firebase (Firestore).
Advertising
Featle shows ads provided by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show and measure ads, and to personalise them based on your visits to this and other websites. You can learn how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and manage ad personalisation in your Google ad settings.
Other services
- Spotify and Deezer. To check songs and show albums, our server sends artist names and song titles that you enter to Spotify and Deezer. Your own details aren't sent.
- Google Fonts. Your browser downloads the Inter typeface from Google, which means Google receives your IP address and browser details when the page loads.
Your choices
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Featle may not remember your game if you do. If you haven't accepted the cookie notice, we don't count your visit.
