Frequently asked questions

What is Featle?

Featle is a free browser game. You travel from a starting artist to a target artist by naming songs they have recorded with other musicians. Read the full rules on the How to play page.

What counts as a collaboration?

Any song on which two or more artists are credited, including features, duets and remixes. A song with only one credited artist is not a collaboration, so it can't move you to someone new.

Why wasn't my song accepted?

The most common reasons are:

How does the Daily Challenge work?

Everyone gets the same two artists on the same day. The day changes at midnight in your own time zone. You can look back at earlier puzzles on the past challenges page.

Do I need an account?

No. Featle is free and has no sign-up. Your current game is kept in a cookie in your browser.

Where does the information come from?

Song credits come from Spotify. Album covers and tracklists in the side panel come from Deezer. Because the two services are independent, the credits shown in the album list can occasionally differ from the ones the game checks. If they disagree, the game follows Spotify.

Is there a step limit?

No. There's no limit and no timer, but shorter chains are more impressive.

Is Featle affiliated with Spotify or Deezer?

No. Featle is an independent project. Spotify and Deezer are trademarks of their respective owners.
